You can locate any historical event with the simple formula L = (y+500)/25 where y is the date of the event in years (positive for AD, negative for BC), while L is the number of yards from the left side goal line.

Example: the Crab Nebula was created by a supernova which was observed in 1054 AD. The distance from the left-side goal line is L = (1054+500)/25=1554/25= 62 yards, which is the 38 yard line on the right side of the field.
